PRESS

“[…] Space and time: The choreography revolves around these central concepts – in the truest sense of the word, developing an irresistible pull by a constant flow that never stops, even during brief moments of lingering. And which sets in immediately, although the solo dance at the start is rather hushed. Later, up to seven male and female dancers appear on the stage with its congruous spiral background. The evening is characterized by high precision and based on one hundred percent trust as […] bodies are swivelled, stemmed, thrown through the air […].”

PREVIEW TEXT

Following on from “Time Takes The Time Time Takes” and “Set of Sets”, “Made of Space”, the newest work by festival favourites Guy Nader and Maria Campos, completes the Lebanese/Spanish choreographer duo’s trilogy on rhythm, time, and transience. Combining movement sequences that interlink as precisely and delicately as clockwork, the seven dancers display an intense focus that is compelling to witness. Explosively dynamic steps culminate in jumps, throws, and turns, embodying a highly physical celebration of pure dance. The continuous flow of movements is propelled by two virtuoso percussion players accompanying the piece live: Miguel Marín, who also provided the beats for the first two parts, and Daniel Munarriz. “Made of Space” rounds off the multidimensional trilogy with moving metaphors for the cycle of life and passing of time, from emergence to ending.
